I actually drew this picture quite a while ago but I liked the way it turned out so lately I decided to color it in and post it. It's Link and Ilia of Zelda: Twilight Princess, somewhere close to Ordon village, I guess. Good time for the saying: Love is in the air. The painting has an emotional feeling to it, almost like some kind of "Beauty and the beast"-motif, or as Midna nicely expressed it, "a girl and her wolf".
Originally, this was just a sketch I drew when trying out different ideas. I just felt like drawing Ilia and Wolf Link encountering each other, and at that point, I had no idea the picture would turn out romantic as this! No, this is not really Link x Ilia-stuff. But you can tell from looking at them that they have been close friends for long ...
Now for the big question. Why is Link a wolf? I'll tell the truth and say I have no idea. It is a deep mystery! But I actually do have my reasons. One of them is the fact that it's easier to confess your feelings to an animal, you don't expect them to have human minds and because of that you can tell them almost anything. Additionally, I think Ilia and Link in his normal state holding hands would be a little ... too much. Then, does Ilia know the wolf is Link? Indeed she does, and this is at a point where she has recovered and regained her lost memory.
At first I thought of naming this painting "Reunion", but then I decided "Forgiveness" was better. I imagine Ilia's asking Link to forgive her because of getting angry with him and yelling the last time they talked. A lot has changed since then and I wanted to show that in the picture. The leaves dancing in the afternoon breeze are one sign of something that's changed; they even varie in color. If you start looking at them from the right to the left you see the red and orange turn into yellow and green. The childhood friends have also changed a lot. The fact that Link encounters Ilia in his beast form may be a sign of change as well.
Long comment, I know, but I had a lot to say. I like this painting and spent much time and work on it. I know, some of the details on Ilia's clothes are wrong, Link's forehead is a little too big and one of Ilia's arms too short, but try to ignore that! I'm improving. I'm always happy about comments, don't use without my permission. Added a mark in the lower-left corner just to be sure. Hope you'll enjoy it.

WoW... This is just so amazing.. Wolf Link looks little bit funny, but right when i Saw this i got an idea:
What is Link needed to Go again for an adventure and would have been cursed again by dark magic to become a wolf? And maybe ilia Saw him turn into a blue-eyed beast? Then Link was just going to leave the vilage later and walked past that place, Ilia stopped him and asks "what is this?" And Link was a wolfie so he could not talk, and Ilia would promise to wait for the answer? And Link nods and leaves
