Young Midna - Crazy Hair

An old drawing of a younger version of Midna from Twilight Princess! (I missed her … <3) As you may remember this is not the first time I've uploaded drawings of Midna at a different age (here's the other one). This is just another take – here she has more hair, no makeup or royal clothes. Her age is the reason I made her look stylized with such thin shoulders and all. Well I don't really remember how this picture came to be, and I don't know in what year I started it. But I found it when I was looking through old stuff, around the same time as I found my Yoda drawing again. I liked it even though it was so old so I finished it! But I think I've improved since I started it, considering my shading method was very simplistic. I added more colour to the shadows to make them appear more interesting and life-like.

I wanted a more wild look here, where you can't tell from her appearance that she's a princess. She has some green highlights in her hair, that's because of her initial design from the game which was later scrapped, but it's still pretty cool. And I don't think her ability to turn her hair into hands is something exclusive to her imp form. I enjoyed drawing it all a lot!

Drawn all in crayons. The title was inspired by Neil Gaiman's poem of the same name because I think I'd just read it when I started this.
